Photography by 3Spade7Star @3Spade7Star_photography January 25, 2026 - Sunday The Black Cat Shoppe was on my to go see list in Wilmington to see if I could get on a historical tour in a motor vehicle. Unfortunately, they don’t have historical tours but they do have tours on foot and it was not feasible for me to do after having a surgery on my hip & leg - still healing. So I browsed the store for a long period and had the most fun using the coin operated crystal vending machine. For two quarters you can get one to three crystals with a turn of the knob on the machine. I was lucky to get three crystals several times. You don’t know how many or what kind of crystals you will get, yet it is fun, and the crystals make a great gift to give to people. I got a lot of green aventurine crystals and crystals I usually would not select like dalmation jasper & a dull moonstone. It was a steal since most crystals are $1-3 each for the sizes I received of these crystals. Alyssa was very engaging and stellar in providing me information and generating more sales effortlessly - just by answering all my questions and showing me different rings stocked inside the ring display. She was delightful,

Cute little random gift shop type place - think PG13 Spencers Gifts meets the local boho magical indie shop ✨️😆 Lots of kitchy stuff that honestly, yes, you could probably find most of it on Amazon but co'mon, if you're here, buy local, buy small!! They DO display some things from LOCAL ARTISTS!! Small jewelry & art that was labeled 🏷 with the local artist name/business 🎨 I highly suggest buying some of these items. The staff was very polite!! While there, check out the painted walls, floors & doors - Wizard of Oz, Dr. Seuess, etc. There are things from One Tree Hill & a few Wilmington things & also items with the store logo - all cute. There is a boho corner with incense, gemstones, purses, clothes, etc. There's a toy area in the back - puzzles, Pokémon, Star Wars, etc. There are some items that are definitely aimed at adults (language not aimed at kids). So if you're gonna clutch your pearls, then look away from those few items. Examples of items inside: stickers, magnets, enamel pins, bumperstickers, socks, beanbags, shirts, sunglasses, books, gag gifts, jewelry, metal build kits, metal signs, incense, posters, and more. A lot of magical and fun items were there. You can do tricks and little magic with those things. Not to sure either unique to Wilmington but it’s fun to look around!

Our tour guide, Steven L., was an incredible storyteller who took us on a captivating journey through Wilmington's history. We particularly enjoyed the stories of Gallus, the bar owner, and William and his dog, Boss.

Super quirky and fun store to visit in downtown Wilmington! Lots of fun stickers and knicknacks and everything is hilarious. However a lot of the products aren’t very unique to Wilmington and you could probably find these items on Amazon for a lower price.
